Bio For David Colakovic

David Colakovic founded Eco-Power Skips in 2013 with a single vehicle and a clear goal: to offer dependable, straightforward skip hire to households and businesses in Doncaster. That small, local business laid the foundation for what would become the broader Eco-Power Group—now one of the leading independent waste and recycling companies in the North of England, with a group turnover of around £60 million.
Although the group has expanded into other sectors, Eco-Power Skips remains central to its operations—and to David’s daily involvement. From vehicle investments to customer service policies, he remains closely connected to the practical side of the business and regularly checks in with team leads and frontline staff.
Eco-Power Skips has grown steadily over the years, serving domestic, commercial, and trade clients throughout South Yorkshire and surrounding areas. The company provides reliable, licensed skip hire supported by efficient scheduling, trained drivers, and strong recycling partnerships. Local authorities and construction firms alike rely on the service for waste collection they can count on.
David’s approach has always been focused on getting the details right—investing in equipment that works, hiring people who know the area, and responding to customer needs without fuss. That mindset has helped build long-term relationships across the region and keeps Eco-Power Skips grounded in the communities it serves.
He also set up the Eco-Power Foundation to support local causes. The foundation has helped raise funds for a child undergoing cancer treatment, contributed to mental health awareness campaigns like #Walkingsbrilliant, and continues to support the Eve Merton Dreams Trust. Many of these projects have involved skip hire for events, clean-up support, or logistical help on the ground.
David Colakovic has also helped raise the group’s visibility through local partnerships. In 2021, he secured naming rights to the Eco-Power Stadium, home to Doncaster Rovers FC and Doncaster RLFC. The venue has since hosted England Women’s U-23 matches, concerts, and youth boxing tournaments. The Eco-Power name also appears at Doncaster Racecourse and across grassroots sports, including Rossington Main FC, Doncaster Belles, and community boxing clubs.
Even as the wider group has grown into other areas—including civil engineering, renewable fuels, and plant hire—Eco-Power Skips remains the original business and a key focus of David’s leadership. He’s proud of its role in local waste reduction, job creation, and practical, everyday service.
Away from work, David spends time with his family and follows sport closely. He’s an avid boxing fan and a low-handicap golfer—but he’s just as likely to be found on-site, keeping things moving and making sure the skips go out on time.
